the four gods by Micheal Ace

the four gods

Call me not a Prophet of Doom

Pharisees and sadducees,
Jews and gentiles
Faulters and moralists
Abrahamists and pagans
Thou must tremble at heart
For a war is at hand.

Feebled sons of slaves,
and heirs of slave owners,
majestic prince of tyrants
Cyclizing cosmos of manhood,
Thos must tremble at heart
For a war is at hand.

Black skinned and white men
Protestants and Catholics
Sayers of ancient words
Of the old negro religion.
I am not a prophet of doom
but i speak of a war coming soon.

Men are to live by rules of the gods
and gods by the mandates of God
thus faith, hope, trust and Love
are the acclaimed gods of four
We fight faith with hope of trust in love
and we shall leave behind only our weary swords

The war has thus come to dawn
For we have defied the rules of the gods
Doom has rung from the crier of life
and we have forced to attain freedom
The fall of man has risen from arose falls
and we will sink in the lake of times.

Believe in me the ghost Prophet
Hail to those who hide their daughters,
sons and families under graves of death
before the uproar of the dooming war.
Let’s await the plight in impatient perils
For the war is here than near.

I speak of a war coming soon
but i am not a prophet of doom
