Dear Night by Akan E. Udofia

I feel loneliness when the world is asleep
No one to talk to or to hug
Only thoughts, wishes and dreams
The humming of a child at a distance

Sometimes the silent of the night is depressing
Getting over a frustrated relationship
Sleeping over the challenges of life
A widow weeping over a candle light

Oh night, how do you cope with all this
You where supposed to be beautiful
Unblemished and pure in heart
Resting in the sub consciousness of man

You are truly God’s creation
Awake all evening to carter for our needs
Anchoring your will to a mother’s cry
And made the night a part of our lives
