Night by Kayode Afolabi

NIGHTS

I swim in the darkness of night
Its eeriness engulfs me
I can feel it’s touch on every crevice of my body
My stare is devoid of sight
The more I stare, the more I feed my eyes with an
eyeful of void
The moon refuse to comfort me
Instead it lurks In the shadow of the night
The sky feels too shy to twinkle
The passage of the night makes my hope to dwindle
The bat bathes in it pleasure
But my sadness knows no measure
Am all alone to the mercies of the night
