NIGHT by Akinbode Oluwatobi Israel

Dancing moon sweating a bliss,
Watching stars with lips ajar,
The cold breeze teased the trees,
A night… that night.
Tales peeped from the elders lips,
Searching for warmth around the fire,
We listened and listed in
The lessons of the night… that night.
Bats replacing sleeping heads,
Chirping crickets dissolving silence,
Ghost scaring humans,
At night… that night.
At night we sleep and snore,
Evil seeks and lures,
Yet darkness ignores,
She is focused.
Like the night,
Be determined,
The darker,
The nearer.
