Poems by Chibuzor Loveth

Save our mother

She wails and cries
Like a hungry sheep bleats
Only she isn’t hungry
But Waddles and wallows in awry.
Her once fertile soil
Has grown tare with tardy toil
She is our mother
Yet in wade we wonder.
Save her! Save her!
Wake her! revive her!
You! you claim change,
Is this doom your proclaimed change?
Twist and turns,upside down
Where is dawn?
Wane, weaker, perhaps dawdling
Chunkey with clumsy flunking.
Trapped in unholy slumber,
For how long mother?
Does a mother murder her child?
Can the leg fight the head?
Save her! save her!
Wake her! revive her!
You! you claimed change,
Is this doom your proclaimed change?
Change, change,
That deafening song of change,
What became of the singers tone?
I hear the dancers forgot their routine.
Save our mother
In this pestilence she weiters
Willy-nilly
she’s needy.
Save her! Save her!
Wake her! revive her!
You! you claimed change,
Is this doom your proclaimed change?
Save our mother
From this sinister breeze
This corruptions blustery bully
She’s gone shaky.

Untitled

I am a sorceress,
Though my sorcery lies in beats
Which sets the soul on fire.
At first strike of the string,
Charms begin to spring
Enough to fill a sorrel with sugar.
On the second strike,sorrows flee
Then at once you are taken on a spree
To a paradise, all in your head.
By the third strike
You are already lost in oblivion like
A zombie under my spell
East and west
North and south
They all collide in your head.
And when it all seizes
When my charms subsides
You become a beggar, begging for more.
