Woman!!! This is a great and logical topic to be discussed. Quite a number of things have been said about Women. But really, we have to wipe the dust and sweep the dirt. I must confess, there are a lot to be discussed as this is a very broad subject matter. I will be saying a few things about “who a woman is”, the misconception about them, what does it mean to be a woman, are you proud to be a woman and who a woman of substance is?

Who is a woman ?

A woman I will say is an extraordinary being or person with a story to tell, she’s on a journey and mission only she can fulfill. It sounds funny right? Trust me every woman has a story to tell and the mission of housing her family lies on her.

A woman of substance is a woman of power, a woman of positive influence and a woman of meaning. Every woman has a substance, vision, purpose in them that makes them who they are.

There are a lot of misconception about a woman.

  1. Women have weak sexual desire and low libido. The commonly believed myths are that men have a stronger sexual desire compared to women and that women are mostly not in the mood for sex. Women hardly initiate sex and are less wild on bed. While these may or may not be true in most cases, journalist Daniel Bergner’s book ‘ What Do Women Want? Uses groundbreaking research to reveal that female sexuality is everything we tell ourselves about male sexuality – that it’s base, ravenous and animalistic – is true of female sexuality. The idea of women being passive and men being the initiators of sexual contact is also a myth, both in the human and the animal worlds, says Bergner. Women’s sexual desire is just as strong and ‘ravenous’ as men’s, claims explosive new book.

  1. Some will say women are weak vessels. But really these people are not weak. They are very strong backing up the family with their mission.

  1. Again, I have heard this numerous times that the woman education ends in the kitchen. Do you think so? Women are to be help-mate for their husbands not only in the kitchen. Imagine a scenario whereby the man losses his job. What will she be doing in the kitchen then?

  1. Showing off impresses all woman Huge misconception that. Showing off doesn’t impress anyone, let alone women.Show off sends out all the wrong kinds of signals like arrogance, lack of confidence, ‘look at me look at me’ and ‘what do you think about me’ and this is definitely not cool. Showing off your Rolex or your sports car will not help and maybe end up attracting all the wrong kinds of people. Men try to impress a women using martial arts thinking women will appreciate that you can karate chop anyone but don’t you forget that most women hate violence too. Confidence and humility go a long way in winning a woman; the right kind of women.

  1. Women are known to be very emotional. Fine! This is because they stayed longer in the belly of God during the creation of man and have tasted the emotional parts of God. Surprised?

What does it mean to be a woman?

Being a woman is more than biology, and maybe it even goes beyond critically looking at gender as a social construct. Of course, there are plethoras of women (and men) who challenge me on this, and that’s fine, they’re entitled. But in my construction of reality, I choose to hold on to womanhood as sometimes similar but sometimes different from manhood. But with so many different representations of womanhood, who gets to decide what constitutes womanhood and what it means to be a woman? I think one of the unfortunate traits of human nature is that we feel a need to categorize people and this is evident in how we categorize women. We limit them and we say that she is, “that kind of woman,” and that kind of woman is categorized as one who is traditional or modern or a feminist or not a feminist or liberal or conservative or a virgin or a whore.

Are you proud to be a woman?

Some women can’t boldly answer this question. In the real sense, you have to be proud of who you are. Women are very special being and No one can fill their positions. Digest these quotes to vividly see beyond the veil.

“Any woman who understands the problems of running a home will be nearer to understanding the problems of running a country.”

Margaret Thatcher

“The day will come when men will recognise woman as his peer, not only at the fireside, but in councils of the nation. Then, and not until then, will there be the perfect comradeship, the ideal union between the sexes that shall result in the highest development of the race.”

Susan B. Anthony

“A strong woman understands that the gifts such as logic, decisiveness, and strength are just as feminine as intuition and emotional connection. She values and uses all of her gifts.”

Nancy Rathburn

“A woman is the full circle. Within her is the power to create, nurture and transform.”

Diane Mariechild

“Because I am a woman, I must make unusual efforts to succeed. If I fail, no one will say, “She doesn’t have what it takes.” They will say, “Women don’t have what it takes.”

Clare Boothe Luce

In conclusion, We must believe that we are gifted with something, and that this thing, at whatever cost, must be attained.
