POEMS BY OJO TAIYE | WRITERS’ GALLERY

WEEK 2

CANDLE LOVERS
And for a year or two
i had buried myself in your shade
on the bed of hunger
someday, when the spotlight moon calls you out
you will reach into my lifeline
hours of deceit:
your voice is now a candle
flickering at the windowsill
my breasts fly south
in darkness

WEEK 1

Memories Are Fragrance You Live With

you say take marker
draw anything you want
i want to live

in the cuffs of yesterday
mesh hands of two bodies
in one soul
i want to construct a whittle
with your withered name
i want to script and sculpt your lines
in the heart of eternity
