FWGE | Sadunga: My music by Olabode Thomas

Sadunga: My music

I’ve gone days
Listening to a song, on repeat.
It is the melody stringed in my heart
When your name rolls
With ease on a lover’s tongue.

Amoke,
There is a music that resonates
Around your waist, and
Your hips—
Sadunga.
The rhythm telling the tale
Of how the sun leaves the
Sky to burn in my heart.

Even the sun knows the
Night is for lovers.

Amoke,
Your anklets, are
Maps that has exposed the
Secret of the route
To the treasure between your thighs.
But your smile is a seducer
Of yams to your father’s feet.

Now that your waist beads
Is the custodian of Sadunga.
I know our nights
Would be filled with serenades.

Sadunga is a tune by the trumpeter Arturo Sandoval.
