John Chizoba Vincent paints a picture of a remote hamlet, a tawny village, a buzzing city and a blue-and-green universe on the verge of destruction, as fuelled by several anti-societal vices each of the poem discusses. He paints these pictures according to the most important function of literature — to mirror, reflect just the way it is

In his words

“Our ancestral Home was built based on many chaos and sore nights, mistakes and flaws kept in a mournful confinement by our forebears. Sometimes, they knew the consequences of this droplet melancholy mistakes yet, like an empty promises, they passed it down in quietness and abject solitude to our generation. Like a burning sigh into the air on the bloody eyes of the receding sun, it fell on us and we carried it dragging in the mud. However, this collection of poems, retraced those chaos and mistakes made by our forefathers and hope to guide those boys of tomorrow on how to forgive and sew a new clothes for more generations to come.”
